High-torque retention knobsTo find a solution, Ausbun discovered JM Performance Products Inc. (JMPP) searching online. In 2009, the company introduced its High Torque retention knob. Invented by the company’s founder, John Stoneback, the product works with all existing toolholders including BT, DIN, ISO, and CAT toolholders from 30 taper to 60 taper.

Lakes took an intensive training program offered through Women Who Weld, a Detroit-based nonprofit, passed her weld test in October 2018 and soon snagged the welding job at the small factory, which makes armored vehicles for law enforcement, personal protection and others.

High-speed, small footprint milling machines have challenged traditional spindle retention knob technology to achieve the design safety required in today’s advanced shops. “As the trajectory of today’s new milling technology trends toward machines producing extremely high speeds/high rpms within a smaller overall footprint, potential safety issues can’t be ignored,” said John Stoneback, JM Performance Products Inc. (JMPP), Fairport Harbor, Ohio.

“Speed was key. With today’s customers, speed is a competitive weapon, and the customer base for this part was no exception—they demanded more speed,” Hachigian said.

The familiar FANUC RoboDrill mimics a vertical machining center’s ability to perform milling, drilling, tapping, facing, pocketing and slotting—everything that a VMC can do, said Ken Corklin, RoboDrill product manager, Methods Machine Tools Inc., Sudbury, Mass.

“Josh Clayton, our production engineer, has been instrumental in making this happen for us,” said Hachigian. “With some organizations, people drag their feet when it comes to adopting new technologies. That’s not the case here. Josh is our main user of Tebis; he adopted it enthusiastically and learned it quickly and continues to learn.”

The video purports to show short clips of DIY food “experiments,” along with subtitles that add a degree of detail:

In York’s DPF application, precut (and often prepunched) 430 stainless steel blanks of different thicknesses (such as 0.036 in.) are fed into the CNC multiroll system, which rolls them to a specified diameter between 6 and 14 in., depending on the product. The multiroll can roll tubes and cylinders from 3 to 24 in. diameter, working with material up to 0.100 in. thick, depending on the material grade and final rolled shape, which can be up to 47 in. long.

Despite the pistol’s somewhat chunky grip, the low bore axis and intelligent design of the grip-to-trigger relationship make the T9 a fit for a much wider variety of hands than any other DAO platform I know of. It’s also a vast improvement on the fit of the most prominent DA/SA pistols; it’s easy to reach and still has the easy handling of a full-size pistol.

The company was founded by Roy Dietsch, Steve Kotlowski and Jimmy Crawford. Dietsch and Crawford are still with the company as CEO and COO, respectively.
