Introduction to dozens of common stamping procedures

The cold stamping die process is a metal processing method, which is mainly aimed at metal materials. The material is forced to deform or separate by pressure equipment such as a punch to obtain product parts that meet actual requirements, referred to as stamped parts.

There are many situations for the stamping process of the mold. Many friends expressed that they do not understand it. Here I will summarize the most common stamping process for everyone. as follows:

1. Blanking

A general term for a stamping process that separates materials. It includes: blanking, punching, punching, punching, cutting, cutting, chiseling, trimming, tongue cutting, slitting, etc.

2. Lower appearance

It is mainly a punching process that cuts off the extra material around the periphery of the material to meet the size requirements

3. Cut the tongue

Cut a part of the material into a mouth, but not all of it. It is common for a rectangle to cut only three sides and keep one side still. The main function is to set the step.

4.Expansion

This process is not common, and it is often the case that the end part or somewhere needs to be enlarged outward into a horn shape.

5, necking

Opposite to flaring, it is a stamping process to shrink the end of a tubular part or somewhere inward

6, punching

In order to obtain the hollow part of the part, the material is separated through the punch and the knife edge to obtain the corresponding hole size.

7, fine blanking

When the stamping part needs to have a full-bright section, it can be called “fine blanking” (Note: the general blanking section includes: sag zone, bright zone, fracture zone, and burr area)

8.Bright blanking

Different from fine blanking, full-bright blanking must be obtained in one step, but fine blanking is not.

9.Deep hole punching

When the hole diameter in the product is smaller than the thickness of the material, it can be understood as deep hole punching, and the punching difficulty is represented by the easy break of the punch.

10.Convex hull

The process of making a protrusion on the flat material to meet the corresponding use requirements

11.Shaping

Many friends understand molding as bending, which is not rigorous. Because bending is a type of molding, it refers to a general term for all fluid material processes during molding.

12, bend

A conventional process of flattening a flat material through convex and concave inserts to obtain the corresponding angle and shape

13, crimping

This is generally used in sharp-angled bending inserts. It is a structure that mainly reduces the material rebound by punching out the pits at the bending position to ensure the stability of the angle.

14.Embossing

A process of pressing a special pattern on the surface of a material by a punch, common: embossing, pitting, etc.

15, round

One of the molding processes is a process by curling the shape of the product into a circle

16, flip

Process of turning the inner hole of a stamped part outward to obtain a side with a certain height

17. Leveling

It is mainly for the situation that the flatness of the product is high. When the flatness of the stamping part is too poor due to stress, the leveling process needs to be used for leveling.

18. Shaping

After the product is formed, when the angle and shape are not the theoretical size, you need to consider adding a process to fine-tune to ensure the angle is stable. This process is called “shaping”

19.Deepening

Usually refers to the process of obtaining hollow parts by the method of flat material is called the drawing process, which is mainly completed by convex and concave dies.

20.Continuous drawing

Usually refers to a drawing process in which a material is drawn multiple times at the same location through one or several molds in a strip

21.Thinning and drawing

Continuous stretching and deep stretching belong to the thinning stretching series, which means that the wall thickness of the stretched part will be less than the thickness of the material itself

22.Layan

The principle is similar to convex hull, which is to emboss the material. However, drawing usually refers to automobile parts, which belong to a more complex molding series, and the drawing structure is also relatively complicated.

23.Engineering mold

A set of molds that can complete only one stamping process at a time in a set of molds

24.Composite mold

A set of molds that can complete two or more different stamping operations in a single stamping process

25, progressive die

A set of molds is fed by the material belt, and two or more processes are arranged in sequence. The molds are fed in sequence with the stamping process to reach the final product.
